Lyrics of the Grateful Dead

History Museum of Sonoma County

February 16, 2017

5:30 pm - 8:00 pm

425 7th St., Santa Rosa, CA, 95401

David Dodd’s Annotated Grateful Dead Lyrics project began on 3x5 cards, then moved into the realm of the World Wide Web and became a global collaborative project before moving, finally, into print-on-paper form as a book and bestseller, The Complete Annotated Grateful Dead Lyrics. He'll talk about the entire process of developing the annotations, what led him into this corner of the music world, and will engage the audience in a conversation about meaning and resonance.

David works as a librarian during the day, but at night morphs into a musician who plays in a Sonoma County-based Grateful Dead tribute band called Dead Again. He's written and edited three books about the Grateful Dead, and if you come hear this talk, you can win a free signed copy of his big bestseller, The Complete Annotated Grateful Dead Lyrics! He lives in Petaluma with his wife Diana, also a librarian, and has two young adult children.

Lecture Sponsor receives 2 tickets and recognition in the Museum's marketing materials. Lecture sponsorships are fully tax-deductible.

The RECEPTION begins at 5:30pm, the TALK begins at 6:00pm.

$15 for non-members and $10 for members.
