Our calendar of upcoming sporting events reflects those organizations that either requested hospitality assistance for their out of town participants and spectators, or whose events greatly impact area venues and services. It is not intended to be a comprehensive schedule of all regional sporting events, public or private.
Wine Country Face Off
The 17th annual Wine Country Face Off is scheduled for President's Day Weekend, 2013. This USA Hockey sanctioned tournament guarantees each participating team 4 games and also includes team awards for 1st and 2nd place, 2 MVP T-shirts awarded per game, individual medals for all Players, tournament T-shirts/sweatshirts, a professional photographer, raffle and silent auction items, Chuck-A-Puck contest, and Zamboni Rides.
Wine Country Century
The Santa Rosa Cycling Club holds its annual Wine Country Century in May. On May 4, 2013 from home base at the Wells Fargo Center for the Arts approximately 2500 riders and 450 volunteers fanned out across the western and northern reaches of Sonoma County on loops of 100 miles, 100k 200k and 35 miles. It was a beautiful day in Sonoma County clear skies, sunshine, light winds and the temperature was in the mid 80’s.
The "Games" provide participants a total experience, not just another sporting competition. Attendees enjoy Sonoma-focused festivals, celebrations, social events, health screenings, food and wine experiences, and help to foster relationships that will last a lifetime.
The Nascar Sprint Cup Series visits the Sonoma Valley for a 25th consecutive year for the Toyota/Save Mart 350. This has become one of the most exciting races on the circuit with plenty of paint swapping on the 10-turn,1.99 mile road course.
The Vineman Ironman 70.3, The Full Vineman and Barb's Race
Taking place in beautiful Sonoma County’s Wine Country on July 14 is the Ironman 70.3, a qualifier for the Ironman World Championship, the Full Vineman Triathlon, the oldest independent full distance triathlon held in the continental United States. Snoopy's Senior World Hockey Tournament

For almost 40 years teams have traveled from across North America and from all corners of the globe to participate in the world's premier Senior Hockey Tournament. Snoopy's Senior World Hockey Tournament is a week-long celebration of sportsmanship, camaraderie and seriously competitive hockey.
The NHRA Division Drag Races
July 19-21, 2013
The NHRA Division 7 Drag Races, presented by Korbel, kicks off two great days of world-class drag racing in Sonoma, July 19-21, highlighted by the return of the Top Alcohol Dragster and Top Alcohol Funny car classes. In All, more than 400 drag racing machines will compete throughout the weekend on the quater-mile drag strip in the Lucas Oil Racing Series event. Final eliminations are set for Sunday July 21, with time trials and qualifying on Friday and Saturday, July 19-21.
Santa Rosa Marathon
As the largest city in Northern California's wine growing region, the city of Santa Rosa opens up the pathways along Santa Rosa Creek and Prince Memorial Greenway Park for the Santa Rosa Marathon & Half Marathon which will take place on Sunday, August 25, 2013. Open to both runners and walkers, the race route features sights notable for the area—from the trestle bridges that cross the creek to the glorious farmlands and wine vineyards that dot the landscape, all of which make for a memorable run on a flat, fast course. 2013 will mark the fifth anniversary of the marathon.
GoPro Grand Prix of Sonoma
If sheer speed and high technology get your adrenaline pumping, the Annual GoPro Grand Prix of Sonoma is your ultimate day in Wine Country. The stars of this series will reach speeds well above 120 mph around Sonoma Raceway. Races run August 23rd-25th 2013 6:00am to 10pm.
8th Annual Sonoma County Classic
This year the SCA Sonoma County Classic will take place on August 31st and September 1st Labor Day weekend. The Sonoma County Classic is a Division 1 US Club sanctioned Tournament for Girls & Boys U9 to U14. The tournament will be played at various locations in Sonoma County.
Tour de Fuzz

Tour de Fuzz is a fundraiser for the Law Enforcement Chaplaincy of Sonoma County, providing support for the community in times of crisis.
AMA Pro Flat Track
AMA Pro Flat Track will be held once again at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds in Santa Rosa, CA. Two nights of Amateur and Pro-Am Short Track racing will precede the Sunday Grand National Championship race. Tickets will be on sale beginning March 1, 2013 to the general public. Select motorsport events and dealerships will give you additional ticket buying opportunities throughout the season. The box office will be open at 9am for day of event purchases.
Nike Premier Harvest Wine Cup
Come spend September in the beautiful wine country of Sonoma County for a Premier Soccer Tournament hosted by Santa Rosa United. The tournament will feature some of the best teams and talent in California. Santa Rosa United is excited to host, once again, another major tournament to showcase the wonderful young soccer players in their youth development teams. We also want to roll out the red carpet for the teams in the tournament by showing you a glimpse of the wine country and all it has to offer. We hope you can take advantage of the many amenities Sonoma County has to offer while visiting us for the weekend.
Levi Leipheimer’s King Ridge GranFondo is a challenging, long distance, mass-participation cycling event that welcomes professional, amateur, and recreational cyclists of all abilities. While not strictly competitive, our rides are timed to ensure cyclists complete the entire course and have some way to gauge their performance along the route. This is not a race, but it is expected that people will push themselves and others to excel within the bounds of safety. It is an opportunity to ride your heart out in some of the greatest cycling country this continent has to offer.
