Under the Oaks Open House at the Laguna Environmental Center
Join us for an oak-inspired afternoon at the Laguna Environmental Center in celebration of our current art exhibit, Selections from the Great Oaks Series by Adam Wolpert. Bring a picnic and enjoy our scenic landscape, with guided garden tours offered at 1:00 and 2:00 PM.
Explore the beauty and ecological importance of native oaks through art, nature, and hands-on activities. Kids can enjoy an oak-themed craft station and play in our nature area, while birders and photographers will love the views from our observation deck.
We are pleased to welcome a staff member from the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria Tribal Cultural Department, who will host a table display and be available to answer questions. Additionally, Eric Johnson and Lynn Keller from North Bay Letterpress Arts will demonstrate how to make ink from oak galls, and attendees will have a chance to try using this natural ink themselves.
Inside Heron Hall, don’t miss the final days of Selections from the Great Oaks Series, a powerful collection of large-scale giclée prints capturing the individuality of these iconic trees. All proceeds from the Gallery & Gift Shop support our conservation and education efforts.
We look forward to celebrating Under the Oaks with you!
