New Public Art Walk in Santa Rosa, California
Discover the Santa Rosa Public Art Walk: A Two-Year Celebration of Creativity
Santa Rosa's downtown is transforming into a vibrant open-air gallery with the new Santa Rosa Public Art Walk, a temporary art program that will run from November 2025 through August 2027. This exciting initiative connects the historic charm of Railroad Square with the bustling heart of downtown, featuring nine large-scale installations by U.S.-based artists—two of whom hail from Santa Rosa itself.
Explore Nine Unique Art Installations
The art walk showcases a diverse array of works, including interactive sculptures, kinetic pieces, and illuminated installations that come to life after dark. Each artwork is strategically placed throughout the downtown area, inviting both locals and visitors to embark on a self-guided tour. As you stroll from Courthouse Square to Railroad Square, you'll encounter thought-provoking pieces that encourage engagement and reflection.
How to Experience the Art Walk
To embark on your artistic journey, simply follow the installations that serve as checkpoints throughout Downtown and Historic Railroad Square. Each piece features a plaque with a QR code that can be scanned to reveal more about the artwork and the artist — adding an interactive layer to your stroll.
Visitors can also use the digital map available on the Santa Rosa Public Art Walk webpage to plan their route, or pick up a printed map at the California Welcome Center in Railroad Square to guide their exploration in person.
