Peanuts on Parade: Two Cities, One Beloved Cartoonist
What do Santa Rosa, California, and St. Paul, Minnesota, have in common? Both cities celebrate the enduring legacy of Charles M. Schulz, the creator of Peanuts, with whimsical public art tributes known as Peanuts on Parade. From 2000 to 2010, hundreds of colorful statues of Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy, Woodstock, and more brightened streets, parks, and plazas, drawing fans from around the world.
Dive deep into Peanuts on Parade through 104.9 FM KRCB’s new two-part series which explores how this one-of-a-kind project connected Schulz’s two hometowns and continues to delight visitors today. With insights from artists, organizers, Schulz’s family, and our very own Visit Santa Rosa team, the episodes uncover the history, creativity, and heart behind these iconic sculptures.
We invite you to listen to the series and then come see the legacy for yourself in Santa Rosa, the city Schulz called home, where you’ll find loads of Peanuts waiting to be discovered. Start your journey with our Peanuts on Parade Statue Map and make your visit unforgettable.
