Introduction to Birds & Their Ecosystems
Join Sugarloaf volunteer Steve Callow on this introduction to bird ID with an emphasis on oak woodland bird ecology and behavior. The outing begins at the main parking area and heads out Creekside Nature Trail and uphill to Hillside Trail. The group will have the option to complete the Hillside-Meadow loop or go as far as they'd like and backtrack to the main lot.
Tickets are $10 for general audiences, $5 for students, youth (12-17 year olds must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian), Sugarloaf members, Sugarloaf or RFO volunteers, and free for children 8-11. Not recommended for children younger than 8. Tickets day-of on site are $15 and might not be available. Wear comfortable clothing, appropriate footwear for rocky/slippery trails, and sun protection. Bring at least a quart of water, binoculars/birding guides (if you have them), and if you desire, a snack. Parking fees apply.
